Recognising the urgent need to protect the Daintree a leadership team of donors and sponsors have stepped up to establish this Matching Gift Challenge to inspire others to support the purchase of two very special properties and protect them forever.

The spectacular old-growth rainforest at Lot 21 Camelot Close at Cape Tribulation justifies its immediate purchase and protection. The rainforest on the property is one of the best examples of undisturbed Lowland Tropical Rainforest remaining in Australia. A survey by our ecologist found untouched tropical rainforest and 215 species of native plants including threatened species and others that are regionally endemic. Please, donate now.

Today your gift will make 2x the impact and help save the Daintree Rainforest from the threat of development.

With the matching gift, each $2.50 you donate will save one square meter of the Daintree Rainforest and protect it forever. Our generous donors will then match your donation seeing two square meters saved.

We need your help, please, donate now.

Lot 21 Camelot Close at Cape Tribulation.

Lot 213 Teak Road at Cow Bay is another significant property with 217 native plant species including the Daintree Gardenia (Randia audasii), a Threatened species with a restricted distribution. Lot 213 is a huge risk of development. As we surveyed Lot 213 we could hear a nearby property owner removing ancient rainforest with a chainsaw.

Development is increasing in the Daintree Rainforest however we can save these two properties today.

All funds raised above what is required to purchase Lot 21 and Lot 213 will be used to purchase additional properties.

Today your gift will make 2x the impact and help save the Daintree Rainforest from the threat of development.

We need your help, please, donate now.

This Matching Gift Challenge is possible thanks to the generous support of two donors to the Rainforest 4 Foundation and the business sponsor supporting HalfCut 2021.

This Matching Gift Challenge aligns with international HalfCut day. Your contribution will add to those of hundreds of HalfCut Heroes across Australia who are shaving, cutting, colouring and braiding half their hair to raise funds to Save the Daintree. See more at www.GoHalfCut.org

The Rainforest4 Foundation and HalfCut recognise that we are stronger together and now raise funds together for the buyback of properties in the Daintree that are at risk of clearing and development.

HalfCut founders Jessica and Jimmy
