New name, same mission
For more than a year now, we've been working behind the scenes to rebrand Rainforest 4 Foundation's conservation programs and change the organisation's name to something that better captures our mission and inspires trust and credibility with our donors. During the process of developing new logos for our conservation programs, we settled on Gondwana Rainforest Trust as the organisation's new name.
After seeking ministerial approval, rewriting our constitution and developing a trust deed, we are now ready to begin the process of transitioning to our new name. Our ABN has not changed and the name change will not have any material impact on our operations or our conservation projects. We will officially begin using Gondwana Rainforest Trust on all communications from November 1, 2023.
About Gondwana Rainforest Trust
Gondwana Rainforest Trust is dedicated to safeguarding the future of the world’s rainforests. Our programs include land buy-back, tree-planting, and unique partnerships with Traditional Custodians to ensure the protection and restoration of our rainforests. As a Trust, we carefully steward contributions to maximise outcomes for the rainforest conservation cause, fulfilling our mission and duties with transparency and passion.
The principle purpose of the Trust is to encourage and manage contributions for the benefit of the protection and enhancement of the natural environment or a significant aspect of the natural environment.
Our new logo
The logo for Gondwana Rainforest Trust is the distinctive blossoming flower of the 'green dinosaur' (Idiospermum australiense), a tree found nowhere else in the world but the World-Heritage listed rainforests of North Queensland.
Relatively unchanged from its fossil ancestors, this plant species' unique lineage - which has existed for at least 120 million years - can be traced back to the ancient supercontinent Gondwanaland. As an emblem of Gondwana Rainforest Trust, it reminds us of our duty to protect our planet’s exceptional ecosystems for future generations.
New conservation project logos
The logos for our key projects, Save the Daintree and Rainforest Rangers, have been given a refresh, and we wanted you to be the first to see. In more exciting news, each project now has its own website - click the logos below to explore more.
While our logos and name are changing, our mission, values, people and rainforest conservation programs remain the same. We remain dedicated to restoring land into the hands of its Traditional Owners, and to collaborating with our strategic partners to achieve our aims.
