In the Daintree Rainforest, we are always on the lookout for Cassowaries and in recent weeks we’ve been very lucky indeed. 

When we stepped onto Lot 373 Hickory Road at Cow Bay we knew straight away this property must be purchased for conservation. One of the first plants identified was the Fragrant Boxwood, which was the first time during our surveys that we had seen this Threatened species. 

Our survey of Lot 373 Hickory Road at Cow Bay identified 210 native plant species. This included four species listed as Threatened and our first time finding the Fragrant Boxwood.

The tropical rainforest on Lot 257 Silver Ash Road and the creek flowing through the property are exceptionally beautiful. This land was excluded from inclusion in the Daintree National Park when it was declared in 1988. Now the time has come to set this right. 

Jabalbina and the Rainforest 4 Foundation are coming together to restore the Daintree Lowland Rainforest. A recently signed agreement will see the organisations contributing to a significant rainforest restoration project at Wawu Dimbi.

Our survey of Lot 257 Silver Ash Road has found five species listed as Threatened. Of particular importance is the Daintree Gardenia (Randia audasii), identifying Lot 257 is a significant site for this species' continued preservation.
