Six things you (probably) don't know about the Cassowary


The Southern Cassowary is a large flightless bird that in Australia is found only in the wet tropical rainforests of Queensland. Southern Cassowaries consume over 150 different fruits and play a vital role as seed dispersers in the rainforest. Due to the destruction and fragmentation of their rainforest habitats, these large charismatic birds are classified as Vulnerable to extinction.

Join our next Daintree Road Closure in January

On the 13th of January, our project partners Daintree Life are planting 2,500 rainforest trees to permanently close another two service roads in the Daintree Lowland Rainforest. Rainforest 4 is committed to winding back the negative impacts of development in the Daintree. We’ve joined with local partners Daintree Life to close down five service roads and now we need you to get involved!
