Santos Organics is proud to announce their Certification with Palm Oil Investigations, launching on 19th August - World Orangutan Day. This means that every product stocked at Santos Organics is free from unsustainable and untraceable palm oil and palm derived ingredients.

This process has involved a complete review and overhaul of all products and means that any products containing palm oil or palm derived ingredients that cannot be traced to a completely ethical and sustainable source have now been removed from shelves. Santos Organics’ Product Research Manager has been sourcing organic, beautiful and effective replacement products that don’t contain any unsustainable palm oil or derivatives.

Santos Organics stocks a small range of products in stores that contain sustainable and traceable palm oil that has been verified and approved by their Ethics Researcher and consulting body, Palm Oil Investigations. More information on their Palm Oil Policy and on the issue of sustainable and traceable palm oil can be found on their website www.palmoilinvestigations.org.

Kelvin Davies, the founder of Rainforest 4 congratulated Santos Organics saying "the leadership shown by Santos Organic is an example for others to follow. One thing everyone can do to save rainforests is to boycott products from unsustainable sources and Santos Organics have now made that easy for everyone to do".

All products at Santos Organic are now free from unsustainable palm oil ingredients.

The growing popularity for palm oil plantations is currently the leading cause of rainforest deforestation, with 300 football fields of forest being cleared every hour to make room for plantations. As a Not-for-Profit Environmental Organisation, Santos Organics is taking firm action to protect and save rainforests from the decimation that is currently being caused by palm oil. They also donate their profits to environmental projects that benefit Earth. So far this year, Santos Organics and employees that choose to salary sacrifice 1% of their wage have donated a total of $31,500 to fund projects community projects.

To celebrate their Palm Oil Certification, Santos Organics has partnered with Rainforest 4’s community event: Saving Rainforest and Rescuing Orangutans at the Byron Community College in Mullumbimby on Sunday 18th August 2019. The event’s objective is to raise funds for and awareness of the Orangutan Information Centre and their work – tickets are only $15 and can be purchased here.

There will also be a giant palm oil free hamper featuring Santos Organics’ most popular palm oil free products raffled off on the night, to help fund tree plantings in Sumatra. Visit www.santosorganics.com.au
